Take it to them!
The original Anomaly: Warzone Earth is part of a decent little tower defense series which includes Anomaly 2 and Anomaly Defenders. As a series, they each provide some nice science-fiction/alien invasion-themed entertainment and make for a good addition to any collection belonging to a fan of the genre. This Mobile Campaign continues in the same vein, and provides some solid fun, although it's a little lacking in the long term appeal department. This one turns things on their head somewhat, as instead of being on the back foot the whole time and just having to worry about defending your own towers, you're actually on the offensive and must take out your enemy's towers. You have to lead your troopers through the tight corridors and kill zones while blowing up their defenses with a wide range of special weapons and abilities. You can sometimes take a sneaky route through the hail of gunfire, but it's usually more fun to blow stuff up, and this is the way that most people are likely to play. You've got a decent range of units to choose from, so picking the right one for the job is crucial, and there are fifteen levels to play through in the single-player campaign. This is certainly quite enjoyable stuff, especially if you're a fan of the series or the genre in general. It's got some slick graphics with neat design work, with sound effects to match. It does rather show its mobile origins, so some might balk at playing this on a PC, but it is pretty cheap so maybe you can't expect too much. It's also not going to last forever, but for a couple of hours, it's a fun ride.
