Blake Stone: Planet Strike

Action 1994 Dos Dosbox Apogee Futuristic Shooter Sci fi

A fairly decent FPS shooter

Being a successor to the original Blake Stone: Alien of gold, it has all the features that it had except for the elevator. The goal in the game is now to collect different bombs and then to bring these bombs to the security circle so that they can explode and allow you to use the exit. There is a variety of 24 new levels in the game and the gameplay is quite linear. It has all the guns which the previous game had and also gives you some new guns which are quite impactful. The plasma discharger is the latest addition to the weaponry in the game and is really destructive and fun to use. In terms of the level designs, they are quite distinct from each other and has a good variety of distinct enemies that have been dispersed between these levels and really give you a tough time on controls. Similarly there are some new bosses which are really tough to beat and you also have some very good power ups which enable you to counter the enemies more effectively. The graphics are a lot smoother than the original versions and the UI is also better comparatively. So you can call it as a good upgrade which is not basically an upgrade but a turn over.
