Taking its inspirations from games as diverse as Dungeon Master, Dwarf Fortress, and Terraria, Craft the World is a potentially interesting but ultimately unrewarding experience which betrays its mobile origins too much. It promises a lot of interesting features but proves to be just too awkward and frustrating to play, making it easily skipped. Similar to other titles, this one allows you to explore a randomly generated world which is full of bad guys and things to craft. You control a tribe of dwarves and you'll guide them through this hostile landscape, building up a fortress for them to take respite in while finding items and resources with which to craft weapons and other useful things in order to help them survive. The game starts out by giving you just one dwarf but as you progress you'll add more while also learning magic spells as well as playing out the various real time strategy and tower defense parts of the game. In theory, this could have been a fun mix of elements and if it weren't for the awful controls, Craft the World would have been a winner. The interface is just so awkward and clunky you hardly ever get what you actually want which results in endless amounts of frustration as the wrong dwarves go about your tasks. Things aren't made any better by the almost complete lack of depth and strategy available with the game being incredibly shallow, thus giving it almost no lasting appeal. In its favor, the visuals are quite nice but ultimately, this is not a good experience.
