Dracula Trilogy

Adventure 1999 Windows Anuman Interactive Myth and legend Tales and legends Point and click Horror

Take that, evil vampire!

As you might expect from the title, this little package comprises three adventure games which are revolve around the legendary vampire and which build nicely upon the original mythos. Individually, the games are decent enough but when you combine them into such a deal, then you're getting cracking value if you're into your classic adventures. The first game finds you in control of a young man whose girlfriend has been turned by old Drac and now you have to find your way into his castle in order to exact your revenge. The second game follows a similar theme, only this time you're in control of Jonathan Harker himself and must follow the trail from London back to Translyvania. The third game tells the tale of a priest sent to Transylvania on a case regarding sainthood, but who soon finds himself on the trail of Drac when it turns out he's responsible for the young woman's death. Each game follows a similar format in terms of gameplay, being a first-person, point-and-click adventure, where you explore various creepy environments, grab items, search for clues and solve a multitude of puzzles which bar your progress. If you've played anything like Myst or Ripper you'll be right at home here and like those games, the three titles here are all dripping in atmosphere, which is perhaps their best point. The visuals are quite lush and really bring their dark world to life, with plenty of details and haunting environments to explore. The gameplay too is pretty solid, with good puzzles that keep you hooked and intuitive interfaces. If you're a fan of the book or just like good adventures, this is the package for you.
