Hack and Slash RPG set in the eponymous forgotten castle
From the bottom of the castle to the top, Hammerwatch is a might hack and slash journey. Yes, the setting is a single one, the castle, and so, you never get to explore vast, expansive outside areas, but within the confines of the castle, the ascent can be very rewarding and fun. You never get bored of this game, especially if you like an RPG where the action is king. An there is a lot of action here, as well as the paraphernalia it entails, from swords and axes to a legitimately interesting magic system. In fact, the game can be quite expansive given its limited dungeon crawling setting, as there are sections where you will have to deal with large hoards of enemies, and also bosses, that will take more than just the usual click fest to terminate. But, for a game this old, the cool thing is that it also features a multiplayer section, and curated by the good people at GOG it actually works and you can still find people playing the game online. So, if you feel like hack and slash but the Diablo series seems too expansive and large for you and your limited time, Hammerwatch can do the trick just as well, in a similar graphic fashion and with just as much taste.
