Excellent conclusion to a great series
This is a sort of spin-off from the legendary Heroes of Might and Magic series of fantasy RPGs and comprises two chapters out of total of eight that were released. The games are all turn-based and feature the adventures of Tarnum, a barbarian who is venturing forth on epic quests for the Ancestors so that he might finally enter paradise and enjoy the peace he has long sought. The entire series is pretty decent and is well worth checking out, but this isn't really the best starting point as it concludes the franchise so if you are interested, head back to Warlords of the Wastelands and work your way up from there. The first of the two episodes here deals with Tarnum's freeing of a group of enslaved swamp dwellers, who he actually once lorded it over himself, in an attempt at redemption, while the second sees him taking on an elf who is searching for a weapon which might destroy the world, but which requires him to seek the aid of the evil denizens of Nighon. If you've played the other games in the franchise, you'll know exactly what to expect here, as the gameplay is the familiar mix of turn-based strategy and light RPG elements. The visuals too are the same as previous episodes but it is the stories which are the main draw here and if you are a veteran of the series, then you'll want to check these two final instalments to find out how it all goes. There's nothing particularly outstanding about the games but these are probably the best in the series and there is a lot of fun to be had here. The difficulty is deliberately quite low while the running time is also short as the series was designed to get casual gamers into Might and Magic, so while this is less than a must play for the average gamer, if you're a fan, you need to play this. If not, do yourself a favour and go back to the start as you're in for a fun time.
