A fun but complicated computer version of a board game

History of the world is a very faithful computer conversion of the popular board game (like Advanced Civilization) that follows the history of humanity from 3000 BC to 1900 AD. The game can be played with 2 to 7 players, all representing a nation in the time frame. Each turn represents a epoch and at the end of each turn, players stop their development and calculate points, then go to the next. New empires then rise for the next epoch, although the remains of the previous empires stay on the board and score points for as long as they remain unconquered. At the end of the game, the player with the most points win. I find the gameplay difficult and complicated, and because of that I believe that the only ones that will feel comfortably in this game are the ones that have already played the board game. You can't see the whole map at once on a standard monitor, but that may be expected. There is however the Strategic Map and Jump Map windows that you can use. The graphics are visually very appealing, with bright and attractive colors. There is nothing special to say about the music or sounds in the game. Overall, if you get the hang of it, the game can be quite interesting and fun to play, but if you're not already familiar with it maybe you should try out the board game first and then try out the computer implementation.
