Just Decent

Magic Boy is a platform video game developed by Blue Turtle and published by Empire Interactive, who also released the Ford Racing series. When I first heard about this game, I thought this was either a parody or a remake of the famous game Hocus Pocus. Instead, I was treated to a different game, but it proved to be quite decent. The story of the game can be summed up in a couple of words: the game stars Hewlett, a boy wizard who accidentally released monsters and turned his master into an elephant. That's pretty much it. The objective of each level is to capture the monsters. But you can't touch them, you have to "shoot" them and then touch them. While the graphics are quite decent, someone has made a joke at the sound department. Everytime you capture a monster, it sounds like you're hitting a cat. Weird, isn't it? Overall, Magic Boy is a decent platform game and just it's about it. There's nothing more to say. I didn't find it challenging and the plot is rather ridiculous and not engaging at all.
