Irritating Levels

Mega Man X8 is a video game developed by Capcom, who also developed the Street Fighter series, released for the PlayStation 2 and later ported over to the PC. I haven't all of the Mega Man games, that I know most of them went like this: you choose a stage, get to the boss, defeat him, get his power and do the same thing in the other stages as well. Well, the formula is here as well, but only after you've completed the introduction stage, which was like a tradition in all the Mega Man X games. The story of the game is the following: The Reploid rebellions across the past years continue, seemingly with no possible solution. To escape these troubles, mankind has begun the next generation of research and development by constructing an orbital elevator able to take equipment and handwork to the moon which they seek to colonize. This operation is labeled as the "Jakob Project", with the orbital elevator bearing its name, and a Reploid named Lumine is placed in charge of the project. As another part of the project, an advanced generation of Reploids is dispatched to the moon surface in order to work on the project. In this game, you get to play as three characters: X(or Mega Man), Axl and Zero. Each of these characters have their own unique attributes, like Axl can stick in a place on a wall as long as he's firing, Zero uses many different short range weapons etc. While the gameplay is quite good, the level design is frustrating to navigate. Challenge is one thing, but that's not the case here. The graphics look decent and the sound is quite good. Overall, Mega Man X8 is a decent game once you get past the irritating level design and the ridiculous anime style story.
