Monty Python's The Meaning of Life

Adventure 1997 Windows Panasonic Interactive Media Humorous First person

Third in the series, alright adventure, but no gem

It would be hard to translate the kind of humor that was (painstakingly!) transmitted through the airwaves over a couple of seasons, back in the day, by the original Monty Python videos. Nope, this game here, is all about the puzzles, with little in the way of actual humor. Anyway, if you've played The Holy Grail and Complete Waste of Time, you'll probably want to see how the series ends. And, for all intents and purposes, the way it ends is by no means something to go out of your way about. But, then again, because the first two games, as well as this one take cues from the movies, to the extent that they do, it begins to dawn on me that this series is for the actual fans of the movies themselves, and without being in the know of these movies a lot is lost in translation. But, I think, that is is in the nature of movie adaptation games to do this, so, all things considered, Monty Python's The Meaning of Life is not a bad game, just one that needs the movies as a prop for it to work better. So, better see the movies, and play the entire series (in order!) to get the most out of this one.
