It's Just Hockey
I really don't understand EA Sports nowadays. They bring us a lot of greats sports games, such as NBA or FIFA, but they make it a lot harder to play, unless you have a gamepad. The same thing happens to the NHL series, a sport release that made wanna try out hockey myself. That's why I prefer the older games, rather than the new ones. But let's concentrate now on NHL '95. What can I say about the game? At first, when I heard that this was also released for the SNES and Sega Genesis, I had thought about playing later NHL games(somewhere from '99 to 2003). However, when I gave it a try, i thought that it's actually a good hockey game, but there are a few things that I hated about this game. First of all, this game has no option the start a fight. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't hockey players sometimes burst into a fight even in real life? The newer games has made wanna fight because they're a lot of fun. Secondly, the auto goalie is useless most of the times. He's unable to defend some moves like the one-on-one move. The only way to defend your goal post, is to manually control the goalie. There is even a glitch that makes the game freeze and it is said that it is caused by the newly created players or trading. I am not familiar with older NHL games and I've heard that are news moves implemented in the games such as fake shots and drop passes, but all I have to say about the control is that they are okay, as well as the graphics and sound. There is nothing else to say about this games. It's just hockey! So if you think that you can have with this game, if you look past all the flaws than give NHL '95 a try. Otherwise stick to the older versions, which in my opinion are far superior and fun.
