Outrun is another of those DOS ports of arcade games and it's quite a decent port if I might add. Most like The Simpsons port for the DOS, Outrun offers a similar fun like its arcade counterpart, but has some negative elements, which are understandable for the DOS versions of any games, except for Super C, which had no excuse to be awful! The first thing you might notice in the port is how outstanding the graphics are. I was truly amazed of how colorful and great some of the animation have been made in the game. The music is a bit annoying, but it's that DOS kind of annoying, meaning that it only gets annoying after hearing it several times. The are no sound effects in the game, not even engine sounds. In this case, it is good, because it would have been hazardous to your ears. The gameplay remains the same: travel at a high speed in a Ferrari, avoiding traffic to get to the next level in a time limit. I have played the arcade version as well and I have come to the conclusion that the DOS port is decent enough to deserve a chance from every gamer out there.
