Pajama Sam: No Need to Hide When It's Dark Outside

It's hero time!

The Pajama Sam series of kids adventure games has seen some decent entries over the years with Thunder and Lightning Aren't So Frightening being perhaps the best. This one is actually the first game in the series, and while it might not quite be the top of the heap, it stands as a good introduction to Sam and his adventures. Sam is a young lad who happens to have a bit of a problem when it comes to sleeping, as he is afraid of the Darkness in his closet. To get over this phobia, he turns into his superhero alter ego Pajama Sam and sets off on epic adventure to get his stuff back which have been stolen by trees and scattered throughout the Land of Darkness. It's up to you to help guide Sam through this world, looking for his socks and solving puzzles as he explores. The game plays out in similar fashion to classic adventures like Monkey Island but in a more junior fashion. You venture through various locations, looking for useful objects and using them to solve the puzzles, while also engaging in various mini-games and activities. For the most part, this is a top notch adventure for junior adventurers. It's got a great sense of humor, and doesn't take itself too seriously. The story is one that many young gamers can relate to, and should provide plenty of entertainment along the way, with some fun moments and memorable characters to experience. The puzzles too are enjoyable to solve and quite varies, while the visuals are bright, cheerful and full of personality. All in all, a good start to an enduring franchise.
