Raiden 2 is the sequel of the first Raiden, there is not much different on them so basically its just some new level, it's also a dissapointment when you can only choose 2 available ship, blue ship and red ship. There is no difference in weapon they use, it depends on how you pick the power up, its have 3 colours blink, red, blue or purple. in order to make your weapon stronger you need to pick the same color you pick before, so if you accidentaly pick wrong color when you're on strongest weapon, you must collect it from the first, its quite challenging but also troublesome, the gameplay is also as simple as the other arcade shooting games, you need to fight your ways through the enemy vehicles, collecting bombs and power ups, and beat the boss to go to next level. The graphics is far better than other similiar game, it have cool 3d effects, if you shoot down the enemies, it wouldn't just explode, but turn into wreckage and exploding on the ground. Crashed enemy also leave a debris in a sky, making it more realistic. unfotunately this game is not well known due to limited distribution (only sold in japan), thanks to cyberfront studios for porting it.
