Broken survival oriented adventure/RPG

In Robinsons Requiem you play the role of officer Trepliev, member of AWE (Alien World Exploration), which faces grave issues during his spacecraft voyage, seemingly due to an act of sabotage. Thus, you have no choice but to crash land on the Zarathustra penal planet (go go Nietzsche fans!), a land of peril and constant fear. But, your trusty computer will keep an eye on you and will aid you in tasks that require you to create tools, perform surgery on yourself and ultimately find a way to go back home. The game puts you in a first person camera perspective alike that of Golden Box era RPGs but more detailed. The interactions and mechanics were a combination of first person real time RPG combat with puzzle elements that involve point and clicking. The game world, while sprawling in size and available in large chunks without supplementary loading screens is poor in details, and you will be a bit lost on what to do next soon after the game starts. So, the game evokes a mixed bag of feelings, amongst which frustration is the main one. Should you attempt to give this game a go, make sure you have your walkthrough at the ready, otherwise you'll feel quite lost and boredom will settle soon after.

Nothing Impressing

Robinsons Requiem is one of those games that it's very hard to comment about and very challenging in naming it either a good or an awful game. The game is supposed to be a survival simulation game, but for me it turned to be another of those first-person perspective futuristic RPG game. But the question is: is it a good game? Well, let's find out. In the game you assume the role of Officer Trepliev who crash lands on an alien planet after the ship was sabotaged. And that's what we pretty much get in the intro movie. The rest of the story is left for you to build up. From the very beginning we see the number one problem of the game: its graphics are very ugly! And I'm not critisizing the graphics because the game is old, there are other games that have better graphics. Even games like Doom or Wolfenstein 3D have much better graphics and that's saying a lot. The controls feel a bit awkward and it tends to be a bit complex. It's something that you need to try in order to know what I'm talking about. When you meet new people, the game like freezes for like two seconds and you have to hear what they have to say, but the voice acting is cheap and not really worth listening to. Nothing really impressed me in this game and I'm forced to say that this game is NOT a good game. Ugly graphics, cheap voice acting and awkward controls makes this game to be below average. In conclusion, stay far away from this game and go play outside or do something productive.
