Sam and Max are back!

The original Sam & Max is a much-loved point-and-click adventure that stands alongside genre classics like Discworld and Beneath a Steel Sky. This entry for the lovable crime-fighting duo is just as hilarious and entertaining as its predecessor and is well worth picking up for long term fans and newcomers alike. There are five episodes here, which form the third season of the franchise's comeback, with The Penal Zone seeing Sam and Max facing off against an evil space gorilla, while in The Tomb of Sammun-Mak, we discover our heroes' origins in a madcap adventure through Egypt. They Stole Max's Brain! finds Sam trying to find his friend's brain, and Beyond the Valley of Dolls sees the duo taking on a horde of Sam clones, and the finale, The City That Dared Not Sleep, finds Max turning into a fifty foot monster, with only Sam available to save the day. The various episodes follow the classic point-and-click formula, mixing exploration, puzzle solving and story development, and with the player switching between the two main characters to take advantage of their unique skills. The Devil's Playhouse really is a great set of adventures. The series' trademark humor is evident in abundance, and there are plenty of laugh out loud moments along the way. The visuals too are charming and full of personality, with cracking environment and character work which bring these fantastic adventures to colorful life. The puzzles are fun to solve, and the only real issue is that they aren't very difficult to solve. Apart from this though, this makes for a fun ride.
