Sneaky sneaky

The original Ghost Warrior was actually a pretty lackluster sniping-based action/stealth adventure, similar to the likes of Sniper Elite, so it shouldn't come as much surprise to find that this sequel is basically more of the same. This one finds the hero of the original back in action as he takes on a series of missions, in both the present and the past, which take him around the world to some of the most dangerous hotspots on Earth. The opening section finds you in the Philippines, tasked with taking out a radar station and disrupting mercenaries, while the second part is a flashback, taking place in Serbia during the genocide, before we pop back to the present and Tibet, where mercenaries are trying to sell a deadly bio-weapon to a crazed warlord. The gameplay is very stealth-oriented, requiring you to sneak around in order to set yourself up in the best sniping position, before taking the shot, while considering things like wind direction, bullet drop and so on. If you do find yourself too close to the bad guys, there are hand-to-hand assassination moves to try out, but really, this is all about the sniping action. If you are looking for an FPS which is a bit slower paced than usual, then this is a good bet, especially as you can pick it up for next to nothing. It's not the longest game in the world, but has a solid storyline and the sniping aspects are well implemented, making it reasonably entertaining as long as you don't mind the lack of out and out action. If you want a bit more excitement though, look elsewhere.
