Chemistry can be fun
Simple, elegant and utterly compelling. That's Sokobond in a nutshell, a clever and inventive Spacechem-style puzzler
that deserves to be in the collection of any true genre fan. The game is based around chemistry concepts, but don't let that put you off as it doesn't require any serious scientific knowledge and instead simply offers heaps of mind-challenging entertainment. The concept is very straightforward and requires players to complete chemical bonds by connecting atoms which are placed within a limited area. You can only move one atom at a time and based on its properties, it will bond in one of four directions with other atoms lying around, and in order to complete a level, you need to figure out the correct combination to complete the designated chemical. Later levels add in more complex elements like the requirement to move around atoms which don't bond, separating bonded atoms, double bonds and so on, and which makes the game much more complex and challenging. Although it might not sound all that thrilling on paper, in reality Sokobond has all the hallmarks of a classic puzzler and if you are a fan of such things, it's likely you'll be hooked from the moment you pick it up. It's a pretty intuitive game to pick up, even with its chemistry-based concept, thanks to the simple controls and elegant mechanics, which don't take too long to figure out, even if you're not particularly science-y. The visuals are simple enough but no one ever played Tetris
for its graphics, so if you want a great puzzle experience, grab this.
