It's a farming life for me
Very much inspired by the classic farming simulator Harvest Moon
, Stardew Valley is a delightful offering that is more than worthy of investigation by casual gamers looking for a neat alternative to Farm Frenzy
. It's got a lot of unique features that help it stand out while also offering plenty of depth and entertainment in an all-round fun package. The idea here is that you've inherited your grandfather's farm and must now turn it into a thriving little business. Like SimFarm
and other titles, you start out with little in the way of resources so you'll have to use them wisely to turn your farm into your dream home. You'll need animals, food, crops, machines, and other such things while you can learn new skills in areas such as foraging, combat, mining, and fishing, and make new friends in the surrounding community. There's lot to explore, with many options for customization and the various characters are all unique with their own schedules and personalities to discover. For anyone who's into Animal Crossing and similar social games, Stardew Valley is a perfect little treat. It gets off to a great start with its charming visuals which are lovely and old-school while the characters are all utterly charming and which make the game a lot of fun to explore. The various farming aspects are all well implemented and never less than enjoyable to play, with lots of variety to keep you busy and RPG elements to lend the game some depth. All in all, a wonderfully relaxing but fun experience.
