Rule it all
Supreme Ruler : Cold War is the third installment in the Supreme Ruler series, preseeded by Supreme Ruler 2010 (published in 2005.) and Supreme Ruler 2020 (published in 2008.). This strategy game published in 2011 is set during the Cold War Era from the end of World War II to the early 1990's. The main campaign of the game allows the player to be the head of either the USA or USSR while the sand-box mode can be played by any nation's point of view. The main objective is to conquer the wold by any means you want and that just might be the problem with this game. There is nothing wrong when a game is detailed and complex, but there might be a slight problem when that goes just too far. Cold war can be appreciated for its immense detail and thoughtfulness but can be a real bother if a person just wants to lose a few hours in a good strategy game. The design has its faults, the most important buttons often turn out to be the smallest ones and that can really annoy the player. All in all, while very good and interesting, this game is probably only perfect for the hardest strategy enthusiasts, and most other people will think it too hard and complex and will probably look for an easier, less brain-crushing game.
