I really love horror game that take place in haunted mansions. There were a lot of games that make a mansion in the night to be a symbol of fear. The very first game that started the haunted mansion genre was The 7th Guest, which is this game's prequel, an is considered to be one of the scariest games of all times. But what The 11th Hour? To be honest, it wasn't scary at all, because thee game lacked the atmosphere it needed to make it scary. The game takes place 60 years after the events from the The 7th Guest. it is 1995 and the player, as Carl Denning, is an investigative reporter for the television series "case Unsolved". Robin Morales, his producer and lover, had mysteriously vanished while gathering background information surrounding a series of grisly murders and disappearances in the otherwise quiet little town of Harley-on-Hudson. Denning's only solid lead is a portable computer called the Game Book delivered by persons unknown to him postmarked Harley, NY. Now, the cutscenes aren't fun at all. They're like from a bad movie and the acting was not good enough to keep you entertained. The gameplay is nothing special from other point-and-click games. The visuals of the mansion are nice but the music is what kills this game: it unsuitable for a horror themed game! It sounds too silly. All in all, of you're a hardcore horror fan, The 11th Hour might be a disappointment for you.
