The Dig

Adventure 1995 Dos Dosbox LucasArts Science Fiction Third Person Point and click Sci fi

A beautiful Lucas adventure

Another great work from LucasArt, the dig is a wonderful poin and click adventure game with amazing graphics, heart warming story and great, fully voice acted characters that will win you over within minutes. It all starts with an imminent threat to all humanity from an asteroid on a collision with Earth. A team of astronauts are set on a mission to blow the asteroid with explosives so it changes it course. And that's where the adventure begins.. All the characters are very well written and have a lot of personality. The gameplay is very simple - you move around with the mouse and interact with objects and people by clicking on them. The puzzles are very hard, so get ready for some nerve grinding, or open up a walkthrough if you get lost. The story is truly beautiful and the atmosphere can be felt immediately. The graphics and audio are both spectacular, the art is truly wonderful and the animation of the highest quality. This is one of the most wonderful LucasArts game I have played, aside from Monkey Island. Just as expected from LucasArts.

Point and click adventure

This is one of the last greatest point and click adventure game. The atmosphere is great and the characters are voiced competently. Story is sometimes just an excuse to string puzzles together but it is an interesting plot that you have likely never heard the likes of before. Those puzzles range from easy to rip out your hair, but the former is usually because of unclear instructions. This is the game's biggest flaws, if you take a break from it and forgot what you were supposed to do next... get a walkthrough. You will almost never be able to figure it out in game. Taking notes will make the game easier in the long run but overall this game is excellent. I recommend this game for all but the youngest gamers who may not understand all the themes and have some difficulty with the harder puzzles.
