The best adventure ever!

I love Zelda. I have since fallen in love with every Zelda game released since. The original Zelda was an amazing sidestep into the role playing adventure genre, from the traditional side scrolling games like Super Mario Bros. You could save your quest rather than the usual pause/continue option, which was also a relatively new concept and which allowed the game to be played for days without having to repeat the start from the traditional level 1 like a broken record. The game allowed free roam of the maps, with no set linear path which truly gave the feeling that you were on a quest, or an adventure. You can find treasure that you get to keep and spend at shops. You can buy power ups and equipment upgrades that are necessary to take you to other worlds and to defeat bosses. If you ever played Maze Adventure , this is one giant maze that will keep you guessing where to go next. While Zelda II returned back to the platforming genre, when it comes to the original and classic Zelda, you cannot find a better adventure game from it's era.

Save the princess and find the pieces of an artifact

Legend of Zelda has got to be one of the most popular titles of the adventure genre in history. Just mention the word "Link" or get a picture with a little green cap and everybody gets the hint. The legend of Zelda has marked the gaming world and even now, more than 20 years later, the game has a huge influence on the gaming community. So, what's the game about? The game is set in a kingdom in a fictional world of Hyrule. The archenemy Ganon, The Prince of Darkness has stolen an important artifact, the Triforce of power and means to use it to take over the world. In the efforts of prevent Ganon to make his evil plan come true, The Princess Zelda has taken another equally important arifact, the Triforce of Wisdom, and divided it into eight pieces, after which she hid those parts all over the kingdom. Our hero Link is set on finding the eight pieces and saving the Princess who has been kidnapped. To do this, he must explore eight caverns, destroy vicious monsters and get the pieces together to save the world and his princess. Legend of Zelda is very easy to play and is filled with a beautiful atmosphere and deep character development that will make every player love the game to his grave. The graphics are also great for that time. There is a reason the Legend of Zelda has become the king of adventure games. It's beautiful, brings emotions, fun and definitely makes your time worthwhile. Whoever hasn't never heard or played it, I urge them go and try this timeless classic.

One of the 80s myth

The Legend Of Zelda is one of the best games ever made, and is still just as playable and fun now, as it was back when it first came out in the 1980's. No matter if you play this version, or the NES version on either original console or emulator, you will never be disappointed with this game.
