Now that we're waiting with anticipation for the next Tomb Raider game, let's talk about the
first one in the franchise. All I can say is that I haven't had much fun with an adventure/exploration game like with this one, especially if you're playing as one of the most sexiest female video game characters of all time,
Lara Croft. The graphics are impressive for it's time and the control is perfect in my opinion. I said in my
Witchaven 2 review how horrible the controls were in that game. Luckily, it's not the case here, because you will get used to the controls very quickly. You play as Lara Croft, a good looking
treasure hunter who goes around the world in search of treasure. You can either play the regular game(exploring caves in search of treasure) or you can explore your own mansion, which is a good place to practice. The control, in my opinion, is perfect in this game. Beside the 4 buttons you use to move your character, you use other
4 buttons: SPACE to draw/holster your weapons, CTRL to activate switches of to cilimb ledges(if you did not draw out your weapons) or to shoot, ALT to jump and ESC to bring up the item screen, using ENTER to use an item. You can also find some items during your
exploration, such as health kits, which come in handy and are mandatory to be picked up.The item screen is well made and using an item is very simple(just the press of a button).Another thing that I love about this game is the
autoaim. Once you draw out you weapons and have an enemy on sight, the character will automatically, if it faces the enemy you wish to shoot. In conclusion, Tomb Raider is a game that is a treasure itself. If you're a fan of Lara Croft, you will surely enjoy this one. My final verdict is a 5 out of 5.
