It's over there!

For a charming little puzzle platformer that offers a fairly relaxing time and tells a pleasant story, the Where is My Heart? makes for a solid bet. It's not exactly a classic, but it's got enough personality and clever puzzles to make it worthy of investigation. You play the part of a family of forest spirits who one day lose their home and who must then embark upon an epic adventure to get it back. Their travels take them through exotic locations such as mushroom caves, crystal lakes and back up into the mountains. The gameplay itself is a mix of platforming and puzzling, while adding in a few clever little mechanics to spice things up. These include things like the fact that the world is broken up into fragments, which must then be pieced back together, while a later element allows you to rotate the world and jump through space. There are three characters to take control of of, each with their own unique abilities, and you'll to make good use of them all in order to succeed. There are also a lot of collectibles to find, making this a good choice for those who like to find things in their games. Where is My Heart? is certainly a fun little experience which is perfect for retro fans who like a touch of modernity to their games. The visuals and story are both charming and heartfelt, with a nice old-school look that gives the game a pleasing feel. It is a challenging experience however, and getting all the collectibles might be a little much for many gamers, but you can guarantee you'll have a good time trying, so if you want a modern version of Manic Miner with added puzzles, look here.
