MissionForce: Cyberstorm

Strategy 1996 Windows Sierra On-Line Turn based War Top down Sci fi

A sci-fi urge depleetor.

This is a turn-based strategy game published by Sierra Entertainment in 1996.The game play universe is based on Metaltech: Earthsiege universe also a game developed by Dynamix as MissionForce Cyberstorm. The whole game play is spinning around the idea of biped mechanoid war machines. The game play is a switch between the Unitech Corporation's base, individual base sections where you can buy/sell and customize your mechanoid warriors, create BioDerms (artificially created humanoids needed for the individual control of each war mechanoid) and a war zone, which is seen from a top-down isometric view-perspective. The player assumes the role of a Unitech Corporation commander employee. As the game rolls, by completing missions the player gains rank and unlocks new technologies whilst killing enemies brings him credit needed to acquire those technologies. If a mission is failed then all implied mechanoids are executed without considering the credit factor. The war mechanoids are called in-game HERCULANs (Humaniform-Emulation Roboticized Combat Unit's), briefly HERCs. The layout of the war zone is composed of hexagonal areal units, each unit representing a distance unit. The graphics of the terrain are sometimes impressive but sometimes not as impressive because of the choice of colors and textures. The audio is fine for it's time although it could have been better, especially the sound effects. Overall this game is a fun way to spend all that sci-fi urge of yours.
