Moria

RPG 1992 Dos Fantasy

The mines of Moria in a roguelike text based adventure!

Moria is the home of the dark creatures of fire, home to the goblins and to a whole load of treachery and trouble just waiting to take place. So, for the most part, if you want to see the Moria pathways, firsthand (see, or rather interpret after reading – this is a text based game only!) then you'll see that Moria has all that it takes to take you on the journey. J. R. R. Tolkien passages of text are taken and given a bit of a spin to fit in the game, but the tone, even of those text bits that are not in the books work well. At any rate, Moria does a great job of it all, and it really takes you on a journey that is definitely worth its salt. So, give it a go, if you like parser games; it will definitely not disappoint. More so, the game has a build that is pretty fascinating, and it gives you the ability to get a whole lot going in there. Also, it takes place in turns, and even if the text is the thing that is most often delivered, you'll rarely get a few statics, just to give you an inkling of an idea where you might want to go next. If you're into the classic Zork games, Moria is definitely worth its underground salt (sic!).
