Adventure set in the land of the ancient Egyptians
Interplay is best known for the groundbreaking Fallout series, but, nevertheless, during the period of their glory they were active in a lot of genres. One such genre was that of the adventure game, where they went on with the innovations of the other developers. This meant that their games rarely produced results that were above the general production value of the time, but, nevertheless, they were polished enough to be playable and to be enjoyable enough. The graphics of Mummy - Tomb of the Pharaoh is in tune with games such as Phantasmagoria. This means that there are 360 degrees viewable slides through which you move at your own pace, while at times you can encounter characters that were filmed and then digitized. For the time this was a really interesting innovation, bringing a lot more realism to the setting, but today, as many will attest, it just looks a bit aged. Anyway, you will be pleased to know that the game is sprinkled full of inventory based puzzles, but also with puzzles that will test your story understanding and at times your imagination. Sure, this is not a crazy game such as the Monkey Island series, but you will not be disappointed by the puzzles in this one either.
