The original Rescue 2013 was a pretty fun and involving slice of strategy gaming that put you in control of the emergency services and tasked you with controlling their every move as they dealt with every emergency situation possible. This sequel continues in a similar vein and proves to be just as entertaining. There's perhaps not all that much that's different but if you don't mind this, then this is well worth picking up. As before, you're the head of both the fire department and medical services and it's your job to issue orders when the local population gets in trouble. Once an alert goes out, you have to send in the appropriate response team and make sure they secure the area and all the other myriad details that need to be controlled. There's a wide range of possible situations, each of which needs to be handled differently and which require different resources. If you're successful in the operation, your cash supply increases as does your reputation, with the cash then available to spend on new equipment such as vehicles and rescue gear. Rescue 2 really is a very neat and compelling little game. It starts out fairly easily, with a nice tutorial that introduces you slowly to the core concepts but the difficulty soon ramps up with some complex missions that require a lot of thought and attention, making them very involving stuff. The visuals are pretty good for this sort of thing while the interface is also very intuitive and easy to use, something which is vital in such a game. Overall, a worthwhile addition to your strategy collection.
