Anime fox girls!
You pretty much know what you're getting in for when you play a Sakura game, and that's lots of girlish giggling, ridiculous plot lines and of course, plenty of oiled anime boobs. Sakura Spirit is not a visual novel like others in the series but a dungeon crawler, more akin to Dungeon Master than anything else, but with heaps of anime girls and the aforementioned girlish giggling. Unfortunately, it's not very good and offers only a couple of hours of dull gaming before it all ends abruptly. The typically bonkers plot revolves around a wannabe judo star who finds himself at a shrine, passes out, then wakes up in a strange land, before encountering two fox girls with swords. Thus begins a less than epic adventure to return to his own land. What follows is retro-style dungeon crawling RPG, where you lead a party of up to 6 characters around a series of generic environments, battling monsters, unlocking weapons and items and so on. If this all sounds familiar, then it's probably because you've seen this sort of thing a million times before. Unfortunately, even if you haven't played such a game with anime fox girls in, then this is still likely to be as boring as it sounds, as the anime fox girl appeal only goes so far. The game does feature some admittedly nice design work, with plenty of lush character designs to enjoy, but this is really about the only good thing to say, as everything else, from the story to the gameplay, is tedious stuff, this making this one to avoid, except for diehard anime fox girl fans.
