Sorcerer

Adventure 1984 Dos Dosbox Infocom Text based

Sequel to Enchanter, an alright interactive fiction adventure

The problems that the evil wizard Krill has been the author of were not sorted out to oblivion in the first game in the series, in Enchanter; thus, your character has to keep on fighting the good fight, aided by you, who's gonna have to see all the puzzles to completion and make the right decisions at every step of the way. The game feels like an Infocom game. It's got that buildup, of wondering about, collecting or just making a mental (or written!) note of the environment and then making it so that you find out what you need to do to move on. Thus, Sorcerer just feels like an alright adventure, maybe a little on the predictable side, but then again, it's better to be like that rather than puzzle you into finding a walkthrough! Although, frankly, at times you're going to need one just because, even if you know what needs done, maybe you don't know how to phrase it so that the computer understands! Yep, this game too has a twisted, kinda rigid parser... But, well, it's still a playable medieval fantasy text based, and if you like that, you should try it, though, not before you try the first one in the series, so the story will make more sense.
