Spy Fox in "Dry Cereal"

Adventure 1997 Windows Akella Cartoon Puzzle based Education Casual

Undercover fox

Spy Fox has turned up in a handful of pretty decent point-and-click adventures aimed at younger players over the years and which generally provide some amusing James Bond-style antics. Dry Cereal is actually the original game in the franchise so it's a good one to start with if you haven't played the others while fans should also take a trip back to see how it all started. The frankly bonkers plot sees the evil goat, William the Kid, trying to destroy Washington by flooding it with milk so it falls to super agent, Spy Fox, to step in and save the day. As he tries to uncover the plot, his travels take him to the Greek Islands where William is hiding out and along with Monkey Penney, Quack and a few other chums, Fox needs to get to the bottom of the mystery before it's too late. What follows is a junior point-and-click adventure, similar to Monkey Island but with an added assortment of arcade games and differing puzzle styles to keep you hooked. Dry Cereal might not offer much in the way of challenge to older, more experienced adventurers but if you're new to the genre or just looking for a rollicking good time, then this is a great choice. It packs a lot of charm in both its visuals, which are simply but nicely animated and with lovely character and environment design, and its story, which pokes fun at spy movies in a sly and witty fashion. The puzzles too are varied and well integrated into the plot and as there's even a few incentives to play again once you've completed the main quest, it's a game you might be playing for a while.
