Arcade 1988 Dos Cascade Games Arkanoid style Puzzle based

Bats and balls

Apparently TRAZ stands for Transformable Arcade Zone but lest this fancy acronym fool you into thinking this game is some kind of giant robot actioner, let's get something straight right now: it's a Breakout clone. However, it does feature a few new twists of originality and innovation, with several nice touches to make it well worth a play if you're into Arkanoid and other bat and ball games. The basic idea of TRAZ is the same as usual, and requires players to whack a ball against a set of bricks, which are broken by repeated contact with the ball. Clear all the bricks and you move on to the next level and get to do it all over again. However, a few additions here make the game interesting. For example, the position and number of paddles you have control over changes according to the level, so one minute you might have one at the bottom and one at the top, then the next one at the left and the right. This is actually a really nice addition and helps to keep the gameplay fresh. There are also monster generator which churn out enemies to make things more complicated as well as refractors that change the ball's angle when it passes through, so overall you have quite a few cool variations on the classic theme. As far as these things go, this is actually pretty decent stuff. The visuals are pretty slick, and share something of the glossiness of Arkanoid's stylish graphics, despite their simplicity, while controls are simple, responsive and intuitive, making picking the game up a breeze. It's not a vital game to play by any means, but if you're into this sort of thing, you'll have a good time here.
