Age of Empires can easily be considered the Queen of strategy games, while Civilization can be the king. It is one of the most popular and best real time strategy game series of all time, and today, we are talking about the first and original Age of Empires. Start from the age of first tribe of hunters and develop your cities and army in time to Iron Age, age of conquest, knights, kings and queens. The objective is simple - conquer all your enemies and be the strongest empire left standing. What made this game so epic is the fantastic gameplay that is both difficult and easy. The interface is very easy and moving your units and building your empire can be done with a few simple click. Don't forget, there are always enemy units attacking you in waves. So, while you're concentrating in building your defense, you also have to build your offensive team or you'll be eaten alive. The graphics are also state of the art of that age, followed by great music, directed by Stephen Rippy, who will continue with this role for the rest of the series. Age of empires is the first of a very long and successfull saga opened by Microsoft in mid 90. It's a strategy game that goes in the opposite direction of Civilization saga. Here you will play in a real time environment, so, the pure strategy feature typical of a turn based game like Civilization is substituted by a more involving tactical one. Drive your civilization and build the greatest empire ever seen along the eras!

Age of Empires is one of the best games I've played. It gives the player a chance to feel what it was like to be in control of an Empire way back in early times. What I loved best would have to be the fact that you start with very little resources, yet build your way upwards.I reccomend this to anyone who loves a good game! Age Of Empires = Love.
