A Nice RPG

Alien Logic is a role-playing game developed by Ceridus Software and published Strategic Simulations Inc, who also developed the Panzer General series. The story of the game is that humans have destroyed Earth and the ones who survived have found refuge on a planet caled Jorune. After a civil war with the indigenous race, the various have made peace, except for one race: The Santha. That pretty the synopsys of the game. The story gets a bit insteresting as you progress. Alien Logic is based on the Skyrealms of Jorune role-playing system. The player takes control of one character; there is no party in the game. While there is a story to follow, much of the game is open-ended, dedicated to exploring Jorune, searching for items, precious crystals (which increase the hero's parameters), and fighting enemies. The exploration mode uses a side-scrolling perspective; the player can switch to combat mode when an enemy is nearby. Combat takes place on the same screen as exploration, and is action-based. This type of gameplay is quite good and it isn't as annoying as in any of the Final Fantasy games. While the graphics are quite good and the animation is nice, the lack of voice acting for the dialogue is quite disappointing. If you have voice acting for the intro, why not for the dialogues as well? Of well, Alien Logic is still a solid RPG game and gamers will find it quite enjoyable.
