Real Formula One!
Coming from the mind of Geoff Crammond, legendary developer of Stunt Car Racer, this is a superb motor racing simulator that provides plenty of fast paced racing action and deserves to be checked out. It's a detailed and authentic recreation of the 1998 racing season and features all the tracks, teams and drivers from the real world. You have a whole heap of options, from practicing the tracks to taking part in a single race or a full championship. You can also customize tweak the difficulty level of your opponents, as well as the length of qualification, while several driving aids can be turned on and off, such as automatic brakes and gears. There's also plenty of bits to tweak on your car, from the wing settings, to brake balances to gear ratios, along with more complex things like packers, dampers and ride height. You can choose your race strategy once you're in the pits, while racing in the wet is also included and which adds to the challenge and enjoyment. If you're in the market for a motor racing game, then you really can't go wrong with this one. Whether you're a hardcore petrolhead or just a casual racer this gives you exactly what you want. If you want to get stuck into tweaking your car, then this has all the detail you need, but if you just want to get on and race, then you can. The racing itself is fast and realistic, with a genuine sense of excitement as you speed around the superbly designed and implemented courses. With its great visuals and sense of depth, this is a top notch racing game.
Drive like a F1 pilot
I have always been a fan of Formula 1 races and still am (I'm cheering for the Ferrari team). Grand Prix 3 puts you behind the wheel of different race teams, such as McLaren of Ferrari. You can play as one of the 22 available pilots, some of which you still know(e.g. Schumacher, Hakinnen and Damon Hill), with the exception of John Newhouse who is a fictional character. The game takes place during the 1998 F1 season. The graphics are impressive for it's time. You have the most fun when you drive in the cockpit camera mode. All the info you need to know about the race is displayed on your steering wheel (your position, which lap you're in, how many cars are left etc.) and some notification will be displayed at the top of the screen (who holds the fastest lap, who left the race etc.). The controls are very good, but if you want to drive like a real F1 pilot, you'd be better of without the driving assists. The are best suited for gamers who are new to the genre and will help them know when to start breaking and on which part of the track they should stay on.All in all, Grand Prix 3 is a racing game that is well worth your time. With nice graphics and great controls, this game will make you feel like a real Formula 1 pilot.
