A 1996 Best sci fi computer game winner

Master of Orion 2 was so good that even today is it used as an example of how a great sci fi computer game should look like. A continuation from Master of Orion, this turn based strategy has a few new additions and improvements - spaceships can now engage in combat, marines can board enemy ships, and planets can be blown up. A great feature is the mutliplayer option which allows one on one matches and battles with up to eight players. There are three routes to victory: conquer all opponents; be elected as the supreme leader of the galaxy or make a successful assault against the Antaran homeworld. To be elected, a you need two-thirds of the total votes (reminding me a lot of Imperialism for the similar win conditions). The game mostly plays like its predecessor so old players will feel right at home, since nothing important has been altered. Sound and video have been greatly improvede, and the game now look absolutely fantastic. This game is a great sequel of the classic, very nice to play and a superb specimen in the sci fi gaming history.

The best space strategy computer game

Master of Orion II is the best space strategy computer game I ever played. I've been playing this on an off for more than a decade and still got to play now and then. One of my favorite feature is the ability to create your own race with its own set of abilities and to customize your space ships at will. Do yourself a favor and download this classic.
