Gentlemen, start your engines!
NASCAR games are ten a penny, with titles like NASCAR Legends and NASCAR SimRacing all vying for the attention of racing fans. In truth, there's not all that much difference between many of them, and if you have played one, you've pretty much played them all. NASCAR Revolution falls into this equation quite neatly and is thus neither a terrible game nor a classic, and simply lands somewhere in the middle, so if you're a fan of this sort of thing, you'll probably enjoy, just don't expect too much. As you'd expect, this is a detailed racer which allows you to drive at high speeds in stock cars around seventeen authentically recreated real world tracks. All the drivers from the period have been licensed for use here, along with their cars and stats. You've got the expected modes on offer, namely single and multiplayer, and season, which allows you to drive through an entire season with the aim of winning the championship. There's a fairly realistic and detailed physics and damage system, while you can also customize your car, and you'll also have to deal with varied weather conditions, and the vagaries of an all too human pit crew. If all this sounds familiar, it's because it's exactly the same as ever other NASCAR game (and many other racers), so there really isn't anything you haven't seen before. However, if you go in with this knowledge and have a passion for NASCAR, then you're going to have a great time. There's a good sense of speed, plenty of thrills and spills, decent presentation and options, and slick visuals. Just don't expect anything radically new and you'll be fine.
