Figth Them Off!
The Quake series has remained to be one of my favorite FPS franchises of all time. While the first two game mostly had emphasis on single player, Quake III Arena seemed to head to another direction, mostly turning into a FPS tournament, mostly to compete against Unreal Tournament. The game wasn't bad at all, but probably is wasn't the game might have wanted. Now, here comes the second to last Quake game. Developed by Raven Software, the developers who brought us Jedi Outcast, Quake 4 has returned to the original form of the series and is a sequel to Quake 2. The fist I have noticed is that graphics look very familiar. Well, here's the thing: then ones from id Software have supervised the development of the game and have let Raven to use the Doom 3 engine. That's right! Quake 4 has the same graphics style as Doom 3. That's awesome. But what about gameplay? Well, it's really solid and every now and then we get some different gameplay, like driving around a vehicle. The story is a continuation of the one from Quake II, but you play as a different character. However, there is an interesting plot twist, which I won't spoil, but all I can say that it will be shocking! The sound and voice acting is pretty well done. There's a multiplayer mode available, but I haven't really played, but the last Quake game is where the multiplayer is really good. Overall, Quake 4 is a solid FPS that the hardcore fans would definetly enjoy.
