A Warhammer action game that still holds its own
The fans of the Warhammer universe are going to have a blast in this combo first person shooter and real time strategy game. The blend is very interesting, as it allows you to switch between the two modes and to issue orders while also being completely immersed in the simple yet very intense shooter portions. Space Hulk Vengeance of the Blood Angles excels in the graphic depiction of its monsters, space marines and everything else in between. The Electronic Arts team really put a lot of the budget into insuring that the game looked astonishing and that the animations were as fluent as possible. But it's not only the graphic polish that puts this game on the map, it is also the fast pace of the encounters. The shooter portions can be relentless, while the tactical and strategic portion of the game will give you a breathing pause. Given the lack of more action oriented games in the Warhammer universe, going back to this game can be a good escape into your favorite game universe, but even if you don't hold Warhammer 40k on too much regard, this game will be just as interesting to play. So do give it a go.
Originality and Total Chaos
You can't go wrong with this game, It was far beyond it's time and is still the most unique fps to date. The blend of RTS style strategy and FPS gameplay is just now starting to emerge in nextgen gaming when in fact Warhammer 40k started it in 1995 for the 3DO. The AI is amazing and the mele combat is still original. Fight through massive hords of Tyranid Genestealers while controling an elite squad of terminators know as Blood Angels. There is no game like it and there probably wont be. If your a fan of Warhammer 40,000 or you want something alittle more old-school but still original OR you just want to tare some Tyranid scum a new a-hole then this is definently a game to check out.
