Sam is back!
Pajama Sam is to the kids adventure scene what Guybrush Threepwood is to the conventional point-and-click genre, an icon that stands as a fine example to all who love these sorts of games. Sam's games might not be quite in the same league as the Monkey Island titles, but for the younger target audience, they are indeed great experiences. This third entry in the franchise maintains its predecessor's high standards and is a must play for junior adventure fans. Once again, you're in control of Sam, a young lad who must overcome his fears by embarking on various quests. In this one, find yourself caught up in a bizarre food-related conference on MopTop Island and must help the locals to bring back all the healthy food. What follows is a simple point-and-click game which is composed of some very nicely drawn backdrops, each of which contain numerous puzzles and mini-games to discover. There are lots of characters to meet too and the whole thing is designed to teach kids about food awareness and the importance of eating in a healthy fashion, so it must be applauded for that alone. Fortunately though, there's actually a fun game on offer here too, with plenty to keep kids occupied amongst the lessons. The visuals are up the standards of the earlier games, with some lovely animation and artwork to keep kids hooked, while the sheer variety of activities on offer here is also impressive. Most of the games are genuinely fun, so really this makes for a cracking bit of junior adventure fun.
