Best adventure game ever
A point and click adventure game with very mild horror themes. The game is inspired by H.P Lovecraft, and is based around several of his books and themes. The game even features a cameo of the author himself, so the video game sort of acts a little bit like a tribute to the author and also touches on the fantasy genre. The game programmers at Infogrames didn't look back after Alone in the Dark. The game is set in the early 1900's and you play the character of John Parker a young English photographer visiting the fictional town of Illsmouth in New England. Parker soon discovers that things are not the usual in the quiet England town, you discover the last journalist that went to report on the passing of Halley's Comet went insane and was locked up in a mental institution. The game's storyline draws you in with mystery and elements of conspiracy. A very difficult adventure game, that serious adventure game fans will love. Since Infogrames was a French game designer the game originates from France. An overall excellent adventure game, that many would still consider a classic and one of the best titles in the adventure game genre.
