Druid: Daemons of the Mind

Adventure 1995 Dos Dosbox Synthetic Dimensions Fantasy

Mysterious, magical and deception prone!

Druid: Daemons of the Mind is an RPG that has a very interesting story to tell. Technically, in terms of the difficulty of play this is a simple game to sink into. It did remind me of Dink Smallwood in the way it is produced, with a very simple interface and very in your face leveling up options. But, while the mechanics are all there, simple, straightforward and just so easy to understand, the story told was much more immersive. The world of the game is all about the game played between shadow and light, as the aliens, the magic creatures and the more mundane aspects are all fused into one, each hiding secrets that will be revealed later on. In this respect, the game paints just as amazing a landscape as Planescape Torment but, while this game, Torment was so much more about story and about letting you know through text what was going on, Druid: Daemons of the Mind lets the action do some of the talking as well. This is an exploration game first and foremost and the revelations are all about seeing rather than being told how it all is. So go see for yourself, this is a light RPG that is worth a visit.
