Exploring Nimbus III as Kirk

Star Trek V: The Final Frontier is a sidescrolling game, mainly, but also a shallow adventure game; the story has Kirk of the original Enterprise crew, having received a distress signal from the neutral zone; the planet Nimbus III seems to be experiencing some turmoil. So he decides to beam down and see what's happening. At this point the game turns into a rather simple, undeveloped sidescroller, which is definitely beaten at its own game by even the simplest of NEs era sidescrollers. What happens is that most of the planet is barren which makes for a rather poor graphical backdrop. But even so, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier is kind of empty of challenge; the scarce encounters are pretty lacking; plus, the story seems not to be going anywhere, and so, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier just seems to love to wallow in its own incompetence. Overall, though, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier is a poorly done game, and even the most hardcore Star trek fans won't find a lot redeeming value in it. Nope, if you're in to Star Trek adventures, download Star Trek Away Team, for instance.
