Water immersed horizontal shooter; decent and fun

Aquaphobia is a very satisfying colorful, cartoony sidescrolling horizontal shooter game, build around this aquatic creature that has to make its way to the end, by the edge of its aquatic pants, a task that will take some getting used to, since the water is brimful with creatures that want nothing more than to eat the poor fellow. But, nonetheless, Aquaphobia is fun, lighthearted and well executed enough, even if it shows its cheap make from the very beginning. But, no matter what, Aquaphobia is pretty interesting in terms of the way it takes the game on a spin, in terms of the difficulty level, which increases as you go on, but never becomes a nuisance. You also get upgrades, which are great when you meet the game's bosses, which can be quite hard to tackle at times. The idea is however to live as much as possible and get as many points as you can; doing this will bring you new lives, which later on become very important. It's definitely no behemoth as R Type, but it stands its own, on its own terms, as a fun (and funny!) shooting game.
