Roll 'm up

Simulation 1999 Windows Pinball Futuristic

Not exactly a pinball wizard

Slightly odd title aside, this is very much a standard slice of nineties pinball that offers a decent, if limited experience for home table fans. Taking a fairly traditional approach to its theme, this offers a single table which is largely realistic and offers little in the way of fancy thrills and spills as seen in the likes of Pinball Dreams and Psycho Pinball. There are all the usual features that one would expect to find in a pinball table, all of which are geared to that one single goal of racking up as many points as possible. There really isn't a lot else to say about the game, and if you even have the faintest idea of what pinball is, then you will know exactly what to expect here and whether or not it's going to interest you. If you really don't like the idea of flipping a ball around a table simply for the purpose of getting your name on a high score table, then this is not going to change your mind, offering as it does little in the way of opinion altering factors. If however, you are a fan, then you may find some amusement here. The graphics are reasonable enough, while the physics are well enough implemented, which is perhaps the most important consideration with such a game. There are a few glitches which don't really get in the way of the gameplay itself, but which are annoying to say the least. The biggest problem with this game though is the table. There is only one to play on and unfortunately it's not a particularly well designed one. There's nothing really wrong with it, it's just a little on the small side and frankly, rather dull, so unless you're a diehard fan, avoid this one.
