Reflex heavy shooter game, minimalist graphically
This game, minimalist as it might be graphically was based on an even less graphically endowed game, known as Targ, a game that was a favorite of those that liked shooting at targets, dodging the occasional bullet and the horses that want nothing but to get you. A more modern iteration of this type of game can be found in an Alien Shooter game, but, for all intents and purposes, even Crossfire does a great job at it, which is why you too are going to love it. Sure, most of it is a black background and the enemies that are little more than dots, but, that's great, because imagination can have a great way into thinking up these things into all sorts of other things, making the encounters as epic as you'd want them to be. So, with that in mind, Crossfire is a plain shooter, but an exciting one, fast enough though not too fast and perfectly adept at keeping you enticed. Give it a try, it will not disappoint, even if the controls only work as they should via keyboard. Don't play it with a controller, you lose the ability to shoot in the backwards direction of your movement and that takes away too many of your tactical options.
