Micro League Fantasy Manager: Baseball Edition

Sport 1991 Dos Micro League Baseball

Limited appeal only

Don't let this one confuse you: it's not actually a baseball game as such, akin to Hardball or Micro League Baseball 1, but is instead something a little more specialist. It's actually a sort of utility package that allows players to create and manage their own baseball-themed fantasy league games so unless you have the need for such a peculiar piece of software in your life, you can easily skip this. There's an entire lack of actual gameplay options, so don't expect to ever see a baseball pitch if you do fire this one up, but instead there is simply a lot of menus with which to create a fantasy league. In this respect though, the title can be considered reasonably successful, as if you are in the special situation of doing such a thing, then this is going to be your new best friend. All the options you could reasonably hope for are here and they are easily accessible through a simple and intuitive menu system that makes setting things up a breeze. The visuals are as you would expect, being little more than heavily text based screen with the occasional splash of colour to liven things but that's not really the point here. As long as you go into this with a distinct purpose in mind (i.e. you want to create a fantasy baseball league for your own amusement) then you shouldn't end up being disappointed. The title does streamline everything for you and makes it easy to keep track of your progress and development, which is exactly what it sets out to do. In this regard, it has to be considered a decent offering but if you're looking for real baseball, then look elsewhere.
