Wild Streets

Action 1989 Dos Dosbox Titus Interactive Beat em up

A punching and kicking cop!

As far as straightforward punch em all brawlers go, this title sure satisfies the definition: you play a cop with a vengeful agenda; however instead of using the law and the other tools of his trade, this cop is more than content to walk about the sidescrolling streets of the city and administer justice first hand. Why? Well, because you only have two moves, a kick and a punch, and because that is, apparently, all you know how to do! Now, graphically, Wild Streets is quite the looker. It's a game released in 1990 that seems a bit more detailed than most other games of its kind from the era. Most impressive are the architectural designs of the sidescrolling city, which, while not very colorful, abound in well crafted detail, that seem to create shadows and depths. Sure, a lot of the city is quite repetitive after a while, but that was to be expected. Still, you will get enough of the city to fill a few breaks or even a good portion of your evening, and that, for all intents and purposes is all that anyone could expect from a game such as this. So, all things considered, Wild Streets is all in all a mission accomplished for its genre. Download, for a change of scenery, Barbarian: The Ultimate Warrior a good game, pretty well done for 89 and capable of EGA or VGA graphics, so you can choose how detailed the jungle is!
